Mrs. Maltsberger was raised in the suburbs of Knoxville, Tennessee. She attended the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore where she earned her BFA in 2008, and spent a semester abroad at the Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughan, Ireland where she later received her MFA in 2010.  She currently resides in Fort Worth, Texas with her husband and two miniature yard tigers, Dunder and Kookie.*

Her work has been exhibited internationally and is in various private and public collections, including the Knoxville Museum of Art. It has been nationally recognized and reviewed as "flawless and witty" (Knoxville Art Blog) and "like, totally better than the Mona Lisa" (Scott Heminway). She has worked as a freelance illustrator, graphic designer and curator, has self-published seven books, and plans to keep doing that kind of stuff till she dies. She also does not like writing about herself in third person, but feels that it’s appropriate for this sort of thing.

*They are domestic American Shorthair cats, not actual miniature tigers.  How amazing would that be though...?
